We’re proud to award £1,000 from the Bright Futures Fund to Healing for the Heart, a Glasgow-based charity offering life-changing mental health and wellbeing support to children and young people affected by poverty, trauma and substance use.
Their expert team provides free or low cost counselling and emotional support for children aged 5-18, often stepping in when NHS waiting lists are too long or when families simply can’t afford private therapy. For many, this is the only available support. That’s why what Healing for the Heart does is so vital.
Through individual sessions and embedded youth group counselling at places like G20 in Maryhill and PEEK in Parkhead, they help young people understand emotions, build resilience, and begin to heal from difficult life experiences.
This early intervention work doesn’t just offer hope, it changes lives.
They even support caregivers too, recognising that when families are supported as a whole, everyone benefits.
By investing in this service, we’re helping to make sure that no child is left waiting to be heard, supported, or helped to feel better, no matter their background.
The Bright Futures Fund distributes funding generated through the Scottish Children's Lottery and partners The Scotto and Jackpot Community Trust.
