Keeping Scotland’s traditions alive, one note at a time.
The Scottish Children’s Lottery Trust is delighted to support Garnock Valley Pipes and Drums with a £1,000 award from the Bright Futures Fund. This funding, generated through the The Scottish Children’s Lottery and partners The Scotto and Jackpot Community Trust, helps continue the organisations inspiring music tuition programme, offering free weekly chanter and snare drum lessons to young people in the Garnock Valley.
From after-school lessons at Geilsland Estate in Beith to outreach in local primary schools, this project is more than just music. It’s a gateway to confidence, creativity, community and a deeper connection to Scotland’s cultural heritage.
“These lessons build more than musical talent, they build memory, discipline, friendships and pride.”
By removing barriers to participation, this initiative ensures that children of all backgrounds have the chance to learn, grow and celebrate their roots through the rich traditions of piping and drumming.
Thanks to those everyone who plays the Scottish Children's Lottery as you make it possible for us to support such initiatives.
